Looking for a thread...shift kit...

I read somewhere about the best shift kits for the stock GM Turbo 400 in a CJ. I'm wanting to adjust shift points and have the safe manual shift option I've read so much about. Anyone know a good source or thread?

For that shift kit, it can probably be found at an online speed shop like Jegs.

Click on Online Catalog, go to GM, THM400 and there's 3 good options depending on what you want. But from what I've read it really perks up the performance of an already great Transmission .

If u don't mind, get back on here and let us know what kit u purchased and how it changed your tranny. I have the TH 400 as well and would like to install the kit that makes it shift a bit more firmly. Best I remember though, the governor is what controls the shifting points, and again if I remember correctly, its very adjustable.

From what I've read, the shift point are adjusted with the ball bearings, valve springs, and valve body gasket.....not the governor. I too have a GM Turbo 400 . Just bought a tear down manual, but nothing in it for modification. Best information I got was Transmission specialty shops on line and youtube. Rod
