OK Guys and Gals, I am in need of a little advice. I just picked up a 1976 CJ7 QuadraTrac and it is in need of a good rebuild, but it is all complete. I was working on a CJ5 project and I have a nearly new SBC with about 1500 miles on it ready to drop in the CJ7 , but here is the dilemma I am facing. The CJ7 has a running factory AMC 304 that seems to be in good shape. If I pull it and go with the SBC will I be making a value mistake?
I am not building this CJ7 for resale, but you never know what will come up down the road. So the question is, do I leave the AMC 304 in the thing for factor correctness or go with the SBC that I know is a good strong motor?
What do you all think AMC 304 or 350?
Thanks,
Mike
