I am just in the process of mounting new Grothe taillights,
but they came without a connector, just the wires.
Does anyone know a source where those connectors can be bought?

I know I could cut and splice, but I prefer factory style :D

If you need that side you will have to cut and splice.

The option you have is to by the tools to make weather pack connectors and change both ends. No splicing and looks like a factory connector. Once you start making wether pack connectors you will never use a crimp style butt conenctor again. Oh and the stock YJ headlights use weather pack connectors so in the future you can just by them.

I have a set of those headlights and had problems with those plugs so I just bypassed the plug and wired direct. Leaving extra wire for a future disconnect.

I just rewired my rear lights and added weather pack connectors and an extra wire to ground it out. I know it grounds through the housing and tub but I like to think my self as the ground nazi and go one step further.

Thanks of the input with the weatherpack connectors, I will give
it a try. If it does not fulfill my expectations, I can still splice...

Yes, try wiringproducts.com, they have several choices.

Molded Connectors - WiringProducts

Although the weatherpak type connectors would be a better choice since you have to splice these (wire to wire) anyways, which creates 3 connection points instead of one. The above place carries those as well.

Thats actually what I really like, cut the one end and solder it to the
lamp socket, where the original cable is soldered...

Yep, if your going right into the light that would eliminate any splicing at all. They have single side connectors on that page too with either 8" or 48" pigtails. Good luck.

The main reason is that I do not want to change the original main
harness which is still flawless...
