I had a bearing fail (heard a squeak and was heading home) it sheared the axle, lost a 35 at 50 MPH.
Im not an extreme offroader and Id like to just fix my 2 piece AMC20 .
I have everything apart but when i dry fit the wheel bearing race it is loose. sorta spins and this has me a bit concerned. I know some races are suppose to be loose. Whats the deal with the 20? is it a loose fit ,Im thinking maybe I should look for a replacement. I was told green LOCTIGHT but its hit and miss too.
THANKS
Matt

Thats a pretty common problem, they do not fit real tight but they should not spin. most people take a center punch and make a small punch mark at 2-6-and 10 oclock in the housing to tighten it up. The trouble with lock tight is getting it out when you change bearings.
