Middle Console

Middle Console
I gotta admit I like your style! :D Where'd you come up with the ammo boxes? Pretty cool set up for an old CJ5 .
It's not to mount the radio in but I like my console, it matches my speakers.:D

as a FYI I was looking at the installation instructions for the pioneer CD receiver I am going to use and it stated that their radio/CD player would work best at an angle of less than 60 degrees. I find the shift lever is at about 55 degrees while in third gear. :chug:

Got them at a local auction, $2.00 each.:)

Nice find and pretty cool way to use them. Never wouldve thought of using them for speaker boxes.

a modern alternative to this is an IPOD capable head unit. No CDs to worry about, you can hold waayy more songs, and no worries about the angle of the unit.
I will probably change my head unit out for one if I ever get to the point of having a running Jeep again.

My brother has a radio that has a SD card plug in. no I Pod to worry about and you can imagine how many MP3's you can put on a 2 gig SD card. I think this would be the best way to go.
The radio I have is FM,CD, I Pod and XM and it was a gift, so i guess I'm stuck with it.

I would really recommend getting this console, I love mine. It is really good if you close the lid in the rain. CDs suck in it and it skips everytime you hit a bump, although mine came with a predrilled hole between the two compartments that I run my headphone jack and leave my ipod in the console where it is safe from the elements. Lastly, it is the only thing that locks about my jeep, so its a good place to keep things others want. It is a comfy armrest too. You wont regret getting it, believe me.

I have the same setup in my CJ....the speakers are slightly narrower and I do have a stereo/cd player, CB radio and a couple of cup holders mounted inside. Lockable, and waterproof!
