Look for a good mannual for my 1978 CJ5 . AMC 304 auto . Looking for a Motor manual . But also Transfer Case and the rest of the drivetrain.

Auto Transmission was never OEM factory in the '5'.

Like LG said, the auto Transmission never came in a '5, so you'll have to figure out exactly what you have. If it's a GM Turbo 400 and Dana 20 like listed in your profile, my guess would be it came from a 72-73 Commando.
