my 304 to ford t-18 question
spikey
Jeeper
Hello again all. I know I have been absent for about about a year or so now but I had to pop my ugly mug back up for another long winded question.
skip to the bottom if you don't want the back story
I've actually had my cj parked for about 7 months now while collecting parts and working 12 hour days so no time to really even work on it. Shortly after fixing my timing chain I got to commute with her for a couple months before I kinda accidentally bent an axle tube, that led to my GM Turbo 400 starting to slip, and my brake booster starting to go out. Like my brake pedal was rock hard by tie time I was getting home from my hour long commute.
Shes a 78 so I figure it's just time to make her current. So I ordered the holley pro-jection kit, The upgrade CJ7 power brake booster kit, spiffy prop block, all new rubber, and hard lines under the rig, front and rear Dana 44 's. now the part that most will find really stupid. However I am a crane operator so I like to have control of what I am running. I found and had rebuilt a ford T-18 and jeep Dana 20 then mated them using the advanced adapter kit. I plan on using the hydraulic master and slave from an 81 cj.
Did I loose everyone yet from rambling?
Ok so here is my really dumb question. I know I had to order the special pilot bushing from advanced because the ford tranny has a short shaft and will not reach the crank. Do I still use the little one that came in the clutch kit though? My thought is yes, the special order one is like a spacer so I would still need the one with the clutch kit. but I am hoping someone has done this before and can help me out here. I'm ready to put this in right now and don't want to mess it all up and take it out next weekend .
Thank you for any help
