Well, my dumbass cat has decided that today would be the day he would explore the outside world again.

He's declawed and hasn't been outside for about three years. He usually is terrified of an open door or anything out of the norm - but today when I arrived home from work and the wind blew open the back door he decided it was a good time to go exploring. I was in the garage for about ten minuites before I figured out what was going on...

It's 55 right now and supposed to drop to 31 or so... He is going to freeze his <-BAD WORD-> off! I wouldn't be so worried if he had his front claws, damn he has pissed me worried! There are woods and such behind my home, I just hate the idea of him and a vehicle though...

My other cat is running all over looking behind doors and under things - she's wondering where her buddy is! :)

If It's a pig like my wifes cat, bait it with tuna by the door, or leave the garage door open a little.

I am not a cat person, but I know the feeling of worrying about a missing pet. Got any small animal traps you can leave loaded with some cat food or tuna? Maybe leave the garage open a little with some food and a blanket inside. Good luck CJ!

Just kidding hope you find him, place a few cans of tuna out and see if that works

Are you sure he's not hiding under a bed or the couch

Know what you are going through CJ, our cat is an indoor cat also and every now and then he decides to try and get out. We live on a MAJOR busy road and it scares us when he does this. I actually like to take him out when its cold and rainy, just walk out with him in my arms so he gets a little wet and cold, that usually helps deter him from wanting to go out for a while. Good luck!! He'll be back, they know when they have it good:D

I would stay away from the traps with food. As a young kid I did that and ended up with a skunk instead of my sisters cat. It sprayed the side of the house after it got mad. The was 30 years ago and I believe I still have a few blister scare from scrubbing the side of the house.

damn he has pissed me worried!

Must be a Southern expression I haven't heard before...

Sorry to hear about your cat. He'll probably find somewhere to curl up and be back in the morning... Least, that's what mine does if she gets out.

A couple of our dogs, Logan and Calisto, ran off on my wife tonight. She got home and took them out for a quick walk around the yard. One of the leashes got dropped and off Logan went. Calisto was off leash since she usually stays within sight but once Logan was off and running, so was she. She finally found them about 3/4 to a mile down the road.

Well, you saw his picture in the 'Caption this' thread... I left some tuna out by the back door last night, also put his cat perch and blanket out too... The food is gone, probably a stray dog or cat, opossum, boar or a fox (we have allot of huge foxes around) ate it. No cat...

Garage door is cracked and a a little bed is out there. No cat...

get out your 22 and some cat nip

 - I'm that pissed!

Not hiding, too stupid!

That's one of the things that scares me, I hate to see him hit by a vehicle. As for scaring him, he acts so skittish when I take him out side in my arms that I'm surprised he ventured out side! The other cat just sat on the door sill and never wavered...

Find your cat yet?

Not yet... :( The little bastard! I have a massive amount of woods behind my place and since it has rained so much it is muddy as hell. I wouldn't be as worried if it hadn't of dropped to 33 this morning. Him being covered in mud and frozen is not something I like thinking about. He's only been outside onne other time in seven years... He does not have outdoor smarts! And not having front claws, he really can't defend himself...

I didn't get allot of sleep last night either, stupid cat on my mind and the other cat looking all over and wining about not having her friend around...

Man I hope you find your cat soon, I know how it is. My cat had me soo pissed at him last night. He's 13 and not healthy, so hes getting quiet awnry in his old age, yesterday morning he pissed on our dogs bed in our bedroom, now this room just got completely remodeled and the carpet and dog bed are new  So I cleaned it up,yelled at him and went to work. Last night he did it again, only this time got the new carpet too. The bed had to be thrown out(it was a flood of piss:mad:) I was sooo mad I wanted to throw him out of the house, but yet he is my little buddy for the last 13 years. So i locked him in our basement overnight(his litter boxes are down there anyway, and yes only one cat and THREE litter boxes that get emptied twice a day). I could not sleep a wink wondering whether to leave him in there all day or let him out. I can't have him peeing all over the house. He has another vet appointment next saturday, but just may need to move it up. So i closed the bedroom doors, unblocked the cat door to our basement and had a long talk with him(sounds silly right:p) . I hope he understands and no more peeing around the house. But I know where you are at, they become an important part of the family!! Good luck!! Hope he comes home safe and sound!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mag, know where you are coming from... I've (like most people) have had many different pets over the years - dogs, ferrets, chickens, assorted hamsters and gerbils, fish, birds and even a opossum... They all stick with you to the end and they all deserve a good home... This damn cat was rescued from a ditch after being born and just about died a few times on me due to infections and parasites... He has pretty much grown on me - and he's like Garfield! Big, fat and tough as nails on the outside but really a damn weeny!

Pete, just came home for a bit to look around the property and he's still MIA! The little :dung:!

Tuna works pretty good. I have my cats trained to come to a whistle. I dont know if that is normal, but I sure do love it.

Hmm. Not sure what kinda landscape you have but look under the deck if you have one , basically anywhere he or she can cuddle up and hide. Cats "typically" sleep 16 hrs a day. Go outside around feeding time if you have a schedule with the tuna. Front of the house and the rear of the house. Update us then. If the cat is used to the inside he may be around your friendly nieghbors if you have them.

Hmm, friendly  nieghbors if you have them.

Sounds like the chinese resturant just accross the railroad tracks heading south towards Monticello has a deal on sweet and sour chicken!
might need to stop in and ask them :poke:

Still no sign of Phil... :(

Today I hit the humane society and start putting up signs. I'm very bummed! He's a fat neutered, declawed helpless cat... He's not equipped for outside life... :(

Damn, I would have thought the little sh!t would have come home by now. Any chance he had a collar or some ID tags? I wonder if a neighbour has it in their house. Hopefully the signs will prompt a call.

He has a color and a tag, unfortunately they are at the house in a drawer... I just returned from the humane society and filled out a lost cat form. I'm creating the signs now.
