Need help with headlights: flickering

Need help with headlights: flickering
Nice! How do they compare to HIDs?

I have glass replacement lenses that take modern bulbs that insert from the rear in place of the old school one piece headlights. Been thinking of going with HIDs, but I'm always curious to know what my options are.
where did you find those at and how much where they? id be interested in something like that.

Ebay for like $25 for the pair. They're glass, not cheap plastic. Some may call them cheap halo junk, but I'm not using the halos and they look like normal modern lights.

Ah yeah I've seen those, didn't know what they were made of. Might have to give em a try

DROOOID 2
Read the add and it'll say if they're glass or plastic. I would think the glass ones would even work ok for HIDs. The ones I bought actually said they're for a Mustang, but they're just plain old round style. They came with a little blue bulb to give them a halo effect, but I just left them out. Nothing looks different about them than non halo lights when they're installed.

Any luck? I'm having a similar issue.... except PO hooked up massive fog lights to the floor mounted dimmer which are in place of the brights...

now when i click on the "hi beams" it is the fog lights

My mechanic replaced the dimmer switch, some wires but more importantly,
he said the bulbs were "90 watt and pulling too much juice" and something about 1985 technology and an upgrade that went too far.

He changed the bulbs to 55 watt and no more flickering...

the 90 watts was the culprit...

My passenger side headlight flickers like you are describing, but I do not smell anything burning and its only the passenger side.

I'd receomend rewiring the head lights with 10-12 gauge wires and relays as soon as they seem to get weak and unreliable.. and new grounds.

Thanks Jimbo, but I already beat ya to it. I actually rewired them the day after I posted in this thread. I didn't use relays, simply rewired the jeeps harness and put in new grounds. No more flickering from either headlight.

excellent did you upgrade the diameter of the wire??

Yes I went with 12 guage wire and a slightly larger ground as well.
