I have a 1977 CJ7 with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and T-18 4 speed ............... I am certain the Transmission is factory but none of my parts stores can find a clutch kit listed for it.

Please help me figure this out if you can. Thanks!

I looked it up on rockauto.com and it looks like the choices for that year and engine are 10-1/2" x 1-1/8" 10 spline.

But none of them specifically say which kit is for the T-18 (or any other Transmission options for that matter...)

There are small variances though in the sizes, most drastic would be 1/2" larger diameter (11" instead of 10-1/2").

Looked on summit and same story...

Can't find any info on the input shaft or clutch details on Novak either - you're right it's a bit of a issue it seems!

Maybe someone with a T-18 and the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l can answer with what clutch they used?

Here is the research I did:

rockauto - 1977 JEEP CJ7 4.2L 258cid L6 Clutch Kit | RockAuto

Centerforce clutches gave me this: Centerforce Performance Clutch Product | Dual Friction ®, Clutch Pressure Plate and Disc Set (PN# DF180675)

Summit Racing (more high performance options) - https://www.summitracing.com/search...rtOrder=Ascending&keyword=clutch&N=4294925559

Sorry not a cut and dry answer for you... may have to yank the tranny and measure old disc and input shaft for reconfirmation or make sure wherever you buy one from will have a return policy etc...

I just put the LUK 01015 kit into our 79 CJ7 w/AMC 304 . IIRC, the spline diameter is 1 1/16". The spline count is the same. We took out the T-18 that was originally from a J20 truck and it had a 1 1/8" input shaft. The clutch disc from the J20 Transmission will actually fit over the 1 1/16" CJ T-18 , but it is sloppy, so make sure that you get the disc for the smaller diameter.
I got the kit from Rock Auto, but they sent the wrong throw out bearing. Naturally, they stood behind it and sent the correct one. Hope I just got one that whoever packed it was asleep at his post!
