New to me 81 CJ5
I would definitely have to save up for a brand new harness and still be in over my head. I'm going to have to chime in with the Good Luck offerings as above.
 
Well, looks like I'm doing that interior rewire sooner than later. Lost brake lights, turn signals went wonky, and dash lights quit. So this happened:

I rebuilt my harness rather than spend the big bucks for a new one. Either way I would suggest a really good wiring diagram: Prospero's Garage I tried to use the same color wire as the original and soldered all of my connections. here is a sample picture of when I was done:

Where the harness goes over the steering colume brace is an area you want extra insulation, this is because of the sharp edges of the brace.
I sleeved my harness in 1" hose.

Should this be moved to the build forum?

No updates to post. I didn't have the energy to work on the Jeep and had higher priorities. I have been researching and developing a parts list for the rewire.
