I greatly appreciate any thoughts!
My 83 CJ7 dash lights do not work. That includes the oil pressure light and volt light (neither work) as well as Speedo lights and the lights above the knobs. The coutesy lights lights work, the 4wd light and brake light work. I found that I have power to the headlight switch but no power at the light socket. The Orange wire is grounded and the black wire is nothing. All that I see in between the switch and the light sockets is the factory splice. I have checked the fuses and replaced the headlight switch twice.

WELCOME :chug:
The headlight switch is known to have internal contact issues also.
Your brake lights and 4WD light, are on a completely different circuit.;)

All dash lights are on the same circuit, the orange wire. Make sure your fuse is good, wiggle and pull the light switch some, check your plug to make sure the connections are clean and not disconnected and pulling out the back.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I am unsure of what fuse is the lps. This is on the fuse box correct? Nothing says lps. Just a few that say acc but it's only a single prong not a double like all the other fuses.

I had to make a new profile because it wouldn't let me back in and wouldn't send me a email to change my password.

I think that's an aftermarket fuse panel from Painless Performance. You might want to call their tech support, or download the manual (in PDF) from their website.

I'd start by pulling the "Dome" fuse, then all the others. There really aren't that many of them. If that is a strike out, look further.

I had the same problem last week. I pulled the switch out and hosed it down with contact cleaner. That fixed the dash light problem for me.
