Not one more "will this tire/wheel fit" thread...

Well... after this one.

Trying to buy some wheels for a bone stock 86 CJ7 ... no lift.

Is anyone running 31 x 10.5 (already have the tires) on 15 x 8 rims (not rock climbing here... mostly dirt roads and the street).

I was about to purchase some wheels with 3.75 BS and -19 OS and the guy told me it could rub. Maybe he is being too conservative... maybe not.

Does anyone have this combo or could give me some assurance that it will work or what it will take to make it work.

You have wide trac axles you should be fine running 31x10.5 with 3.75 BS.
I have a friend that has been running 32" on a stock suspension and narrow trac axles for many years. He runs pavement, and dirt roads only.

I run 33" BFG/AT tires with 15X8 wheels.

31x10.5's are my favorite size tire. Good all around performance, they are big enough to be beefy looking, generally no suspension problems. I do admit to be looking at 33's lately.

HH-BFG/AT in 33's is an outstanding tire. I have been running them for many years now. They wear well, and super quiet on the road.

I have been running BFG A/Ts in 31 forever. And I had them on the stock suspension for a few years. Worked great. Still look good with a 2.5-3" lift I am running now.

Funny how a 31" looks big when I've been running 29" on my 69.
Yet my 39.5 look at home on my 5.5
