Body Odd turn signal holes..not sure how to proceed

Hi folks,

I have odd turn signal holes in my grill..not sure how to proceed for replacement trun signals. I got this tub from a family member.
All grills I thought had round holes. This is different as far as I can tell. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also another thing is three screws for the turn signals does anyone have a clue what might fit in these holes?and fill that large tear drop shaped hole....anybody ?

That's odd. I've worked on a few CJs and have never come across that. Maybe someone here has.

That is a factory early (72-75) grill. I still have mine. As for what screws to use, I just used sheet metal ones. I'm trying to dig up an old pic.

Newer CJ’s only used two screws, so those must be the correct ones for the odd shaped holes.

I have a grille with those holes in storage that I intend to use for wall decor, good to know. One of these days. Thanks @CJ.
