Hi, I am installing new parking brake cables and cant figure out how the cable attaches to the backing plate. The backing plate has two bolt holes which would hold the cable bracket.
While digging through old boxes of parts I came across two other similar plates which I think may be attached also.
Does the mounting plate go on the inside of the backing plate or on the back? If so, I can attach it with two bolts.
But then again, where does the other little plate go?

thank you for posting this. I have the same backing plate / emergency brake cable set up and can not find replacement cables that have that bracket on them. Do you know where they came from or what the model number is?

I agree with the above. That doesn't look like an AMC20 axle. I replaced my stock rear axle with a Dana 44 out of a '73 CJ5 and both e-brake cables just push into the backing plate with a flare type fitting. I think your rear axle isn't factory, and without knowing what you have it's all speculation,
