Hello Everyone - I'm new to the site and just recently purchased a 1985 CJ7 . I've always loved Jeeps and this is going to be my first project so, I wanted to get some input on the best places for purchasing body and frame parts, suspensions, interior components, etc.. I'm familiar with Quadratec and a few other sites but was curious what the go-to Jeep sites are that you guys like to use for refurbs?

Thanks in advance. Go easy on the new guy!

I stick with Quadratec or Summit for the more common items. I have had serious issues with Morris so will not buy there anymore, but others like them.

No Morris...

VintageJeepParts.com has some hard to find parts that Quadratec and similar don't carry, like fuel filler parts and heater hoses for my '77.

I try to find something that isn't made by Crown or Omix when I can. For body parts, I would check out Classic Enterprise or maybe MD Juan. Alot of stuff like suspension, interior, tops, etc depends on what you are looking for (completely stock, modified, etc).

A lot of the Jeep parts sites like Quadratec, 4 Wheel Parts/4wd Hardware, Morris, etc have pretty much the same stuff. A lot of it is also available through eBay or Amazon. I like to find a part There are a lot of smaller companies that make CJ specific parts that specialize in a certain area (like body parts, frame, suspension, steering, bumpers, tops, etc) that tend to be not 100% replacements but are almost always better quality than the Crown/Omix stuff.

Not sure what your plans are, but don't get rid of any parts until you have a replacement. Although it's less likely with your '85, I've found that for some parts, correct replacements for my '77 don't exist (such as dash indicator lights and speedometer cluster).

Thanks for the all the input! This will be a frame off rebuild and my main concern is finding a good source for the fenders and tub (both metal) since the current body has a good amount of rust. Most of what I have found is coming out of China, which makes me a little leery. I would love some feedback from anyone who may has purchased replacement body parts or if you know anyone who has. Thanks again!

CE restoration all body panels are made in good ole USA, are exact dupes of OEM panels in thickness and quality. However they are pricey but I think it's worth it in the long run. I have talked with them, but haven't ordered yet, but will. I need the rear panel without tailgate.
Hopefully a couple of folks who have ordered from them chime in.

X2 on Crown and Omix not the best quality, unfortunately sometimes they are the only manufacturers who make the part.

Also Rockauto and Collins brothers are coule more sites for parts.
