1972 CJ5, 304 V8 3speed manual trans
Changing spark plugs on my 72, CJ5 . AMC 304 2bbl. whats the gap on the plugs suppose to be. Can't seem to find anything online.thanks in advance
 
The gap should be between .032 ~ .035 for stock ignition. If you have a modified (HEI or MSD type) you can easily got to .040.
 
Thank you, stock ignition. Wow, very tight fit, headman headers are make getting plugs out a nightmare. Found a couple of them previous owner put in only finger tight. Now I know why. Thank you

It depends on if it's electronic or points. If it's electronic your gap can be larger like 34 if it's points around 28 but that's from memory.

My HEI is between 50 & 55 .... But he says it's a stock ignition so follow the above advice.
