I'm adding PS to my 76 CJ. I've heard there are many options for steering boxes and pumps. Also adding a keyless tilt column. I'm 6'1" so going with a 28" aftermarket. Any suggestions regarding all would be much appreciated,
including hd box bracket. TIA, and happy to be here.

Welcome! If you're looking at putting in both power steering and a tilt steering column, you may want to think about selling the CJ, and buying one that comes those features. They're not impossible to find, and it would probably save you a lot of time and money.

For the column, I got a rebuilt column from Columns Galore. Tilt, no ignition switch, all new turn signal switch, works great. I installed a push button keyless ignition with the button on the dash.

I also added PS to my CJ; didn't have that or power brakes when I got it. Now my PS pump came with the serpentine belt kit on my GM Crate motor. So I can't respond to what pumps may be good or bad to add to an AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l engine. For the gearbox, I used a stock unit from Masterpro, part # 502-0105. Got it at the local O'Reilly Auto.

You'll need a pump and also the brackets to mount it, along with hoses. Here's some part #'s:
PS Return line hose: J5357190 for $30
PS Pressure hose: J5370018 for $35
Pump (Masterpro): 732-2152 for $105
Gearbox (Masterpro): 502-0112 for $215
Bracket for mounting the pump to the engine: eBay used ones about $AMC 150 and up
Bracket for mounting the gearbox to the frame: M.O.R.E., Fishbone, or other HD unit; or stock used ones on eBay for ~$250

I have an original Bracket for an 84 if needed.

TSB8C, thanks so much for that info! I appreciate the part numbers!

J&W Jeep (jwjeep.com) seems to always have what I'm looking for. They might have the pump mounts you are looking for.
