Currently converting a manual steering 1984 CJ7 SVP to power steering. Currently has YJ OME spring lift, SUA. Have seen conflicting info on the YJ pitarm arm usage. Some say it is interchangeable with the CJ7 arm, but seeing other post say it is not clocked correctly and needs to be filed.

Which is true? Running a Lares 11430 rock crawler steering box 32mm output.

Solution
Yes, they are keyed differently. So the YJ arm will fit the steering box in a CJ, but your steering linkage would no longer be centered. You can easily use a triangle file to notch the locating flats to make it line up.

A stock YJ pitman arm has a drop to it about equal to a 2" lift CJ pitman arm.
