Oh I forgot my questions,

Is this most likely a 4.0 head intake swap?

Can a 4.0 swap be done with out hooking up the other items?

Definitely a renix intake, but I'm thinking it was a complete 4.0 swap based on the pulley system. Also, I believe the VSS on those systems was right behind the speedometer, before the cable goes through the firewall.

Thanks Tinman I'll check there tomorrow . I had a Cherokee in college, but this is my first real jeep. Bonus one of the PO converted the AC pump to an on board compressor, not sure how well it works.

Is it an automatic? If so the TF999 Transmission from those models with the FI 4.0 had a provision in the bell housing for the CPS.

Pete it's a standard and there is no cut-out for the CPS. It's seems weird, that it's (the CPS) isn't around.
They guy I got it from bought it in May and drove it until December.

So I looked further and found the CPS it's almost i the very top of the bell housing. It's a t-5 tranny

Beat me to it. Yes the CPS is in a PITA location on the housings.

If you've swapped out the fuel pump and filter and still have issues, you may try burping the fuel line/fuel rail. I had to do that to my swap after installing the fuel pump.

The CPS can be sensitive, especially on the modified bellhousing versions. My Hesco had to be within 0.025. Without it working correctly, it won't fire.

Get the intake casting number which may help you identify which year/version it is.

Thanks for the advice everyone. It's been about 10 years since I've worked on cars/trucks so I'm a little rusty.
