All,
I'm in the middle of my 351w build for my '76 CJ5 and in my planning process I forgot to think about clearance issues with the hood. I'm kicking myself right now because the 351w is in short block form right now...but at least I haven't purchased top end pieces yet.
I thought I had what I wanted in heads, cam, and intake, but the carb pad height on the intake that matches well with the heads and cam I'd like to use is just under 2" taller than the stock height intake manifold. I don't know if I'm going to have clearance issues or not when all is said and done. I know there are carb filter drop base plates out there that drop more than what I would need, but just seeing what folks have done with their engines.
What manifolds did you use in your engines? I can use the ol' google machine to figure out heights.
Thanks.
