Trying to find an overflow tank for my 78 CJ. Does anyone know if the stock 81-86 version will bolt directly to the inner fender? I see an aluminum aftermarket one but costs twicw as much. Also what side, driver or passenger is stock tank mounted? Thanks!

Since the fenders are the same, i'm sure it would fit. It goes on the driver's side, The bottom of it is made to clear the ignition control module.

seen one on ebay for 20 bucks new:chug:

They're available from all the regular cj parts suppliers, like Morris, jc whitney, etc.
My 80 CJ5 has a plastic qt oil can with the overflow tube poking all the way to the bottom.

Thanks for the info. Bought one from Morris and other than drilling a couple of holes, it fits. Close to steering shaft but fine

Can you post a photo when done?

Thanks
