So what I can't remember is what was hooked to the distributor if I unhook the connection that went from the MSD to the distributor. Also do you think I would need to reset the timing. MSD says it will take about two to three wks to turn around the A6.

If the OEM ignition module is still installed you need to plug it back into the distributor. You would also need to plug the coil back in the the original connector. The timing does not need to be re-adjusted.

So...$22 bucks for a new coil (you can't use the OEM coil connector with the MSD Blaster Coil). So I had read about the A6 failing in the field before I switched to this system and kept all my OEM connectors. I had zip tied and electrical taped them out of the way. (which is why I originally couldn't find my OEM ignition module end). Switched out the coil for a OEM type and two cranks later it started right up. After a test drive and test cranks I find that it is a bit harder to start than with the A6, but it does start and runs very smooth. Now I am actually glad the A6 gave out where it did as I now will keep the new coil in the jeep and with a couple of wire changes can switch between the two in the field. Also this confirms that it was the A6 that was bad and not my ignition switch which I was dreading to switch out.

Thanks to BusaDave9 and everyone else for your help and Tin Medic for offering me a new blaster coil. You guys are are best
