Crush Sleeve! What CJ axle uses a crush sleeve?

Hmm.. I keep getting the 44 and the 20 confused... It's been a long week already!!!

I THOUGHT it LOOKED like it OUGHT to be a crush sleeve... but I've never held that particular doolie in my hands. Many thanks - when I rebuild a 20 & need to order parts, I'll know I got the right one now.

Good job; ya picked a stumper but a valid one. Those're hard to come by.

I don't know which years they came in but I think the crush sleeve was also in some Dana 30 's and maybe 44's? I do know they sell them aftermarket as I did lots of research when I regeared.

So I hope I am within the rules but here is a Jeep part.

I tried to disclaim . Since it's not stock I will show the whole picture. It still may be tough to identify. I came across it when doing my gearing research. BTW, it's not a crush bearing.

Never EVER lay out a pic like THAT in front of a software engineer.

"Solid Pinion Spacer with Shim Pack". Same stock image is used for quite a few GM differentials.

EDIT: Oh, that's a Ratech 4109.

TD I see who the trickster is here! I have family in Va, Ar, and Pa and took you for a good ol' boy parts guru, not a rocket scientist computer guru!

Boy, do I know what THAT is! It's a severe PITA without the rubber insulator, and it's also a severe PITA WITH the rubber insulator. That's a shift lever lock... for the T-5 five-speed. It's a PITA without the insulator 'cause the shifter rattles around and it's a PITA with it 'cause getting it to stab onto the shifter stub is a serious job - everything fits TIGHT.

Id recommend throwing the T-5 away with it.
