Looks like a drive shaft but I think they called them propeller shafts back then.

Great job :notworthy:. I thought it was interesting that it was called that, but makes sense. When I first came across the name I thought it was from a Ford GPA Seep like this .

So here is what I think is a small parts tough one, although I am not real familiar with the older ones. But let's see.....

The above is a pedal draft pad set. Something to do with the pedals where they go into the firewall? 59-71 CJ5 's and lots of other older Jeeps have as well.

Ok guys, this is probably very obvious...

Alright, its a washer... But where is it from?

I dropped off a 360 block, heads, and crank at a machine shop and got a box of bolts and small parts back...

Those are the clues...

Oh, and its approximately 1 1/4 inches O.D.

My guess is a Cam shaft thrust washer behind the cam drive gear.

My guess is a Cam shaft thrust washer behind the cam drive gear.

Good guess, but the engine was given to them in 4 distinct pieces, already disassembled...

1. block
2. heads (2)
3. crank
4. box of pistons on connecting rods

that was all I gave them

(BTW: you're scarring me.... is there supposed to be a thrust washer behind the gear!!! ) I just put on the timing set 2 days ago !

I can't remember for sure, I was just guessing.

Kinda looks like a valve spring shim.

Nice call CJ ! It sure does look like that...

I'm gonna give the heads a once over and see if I can tell if one spring is missing a shim.

Machine shop might hear about this, especially since it was in a small box of bolts, etc they took off the block and heads.
