Remote starter

How do I hook up the trigger on the starter to do compression test. Pos battery to starter connection? Tried, nothin, wire got warm. Do I need to disconnect lead from starter?

Positive to small 'S' terminal on the solenoid. If the terminal is not marked justry them both, one energizes the coil and one triggers the starter.

On the '85 it should be to the blue wire location on the relay, which is the "s" terminal.

Didn't do it yet, but the symptoms are backfire at high rpms, a prominent miss sound. There is a mild cam, but this is definitely a shake and rhythmic miss. I need to know if its something easy up top or if it is deeper.

Took intake off and re sealed to no avail. I need to go out and see what the compression readings are

I hope not, but it is possible that your camshaft could be out of time with the crank. I had to correct this once in a vehicle where I had changed camshafts and it required a 4 degree advance in the cam timing. There are kits available to do this with different degrees of adjustment. It is done by installing an offset in the cam timing chain gear locater.

Here is some info the left side, cylinders 2,4,8 were 140 psi, 6 was 130

Right side 1,3,5 125 psi , 7 115 psi

Doesn't sound like the cam or both banks would be off. Did you use a degree wheel when you installed it?
Could possibly be the head gasket, but I doubt that the rings have sealed in good yet, so
What do the plugs look like?

I may have been from the richness if idle screws, they were almost all the way out before adjustment. They are about 1 1/2 out

New valley pan and head, valve cover gasket ordered. Tomorrow is go time.

3 am, last bolt of head gasket change. Pop. iPad mini from Christmas on the concrete floor. Face down, was looking at intake sequence and forgot it was propped to the hood latch. I hope it's fixable, I'd feel terrible!

OUCH!!!! Germy, it is repairable and a lot cheaper than replacement of the device.

Thanks! Apple is usually pretty reasonable with their products. I'm going to hunt down that leak once the engine is warm, that's when it puddles
