Boys I must remove the pump of the gasoline and to put the plaquette to cover the hole, (I have climbed on an electric pomp) since initially I had left her in-line but unfortunately after a trip in highway she has burnt me that electric to cause really of the mechanics that when a po pushes she doesn't succeed in sending anymore the gasoline sufficente provoking a narrowing, therefore I wanted to know if to remove the mechanical pump to work more easily is better to raise the pump of the power steering or the same can be removed. AMC 304
Thanks!

i apologize because it it a little hard to follow your post. I am fairly certain you can get the Mechanical pump out without pulling off your Power steering pump, but I no longer have a v8 and I am going off of memory.

Make sure your inline electric fuel pump is mounted below the top of the tank, this will aid in easing the strain on the pump once it is primed as gravity will do be able to do what it does.

If that is the question, yes, all you need is a 6" extension no need to remove the PS pump.

Sorry for my language.

Yes i must pull off the mechanic pump, it don't work fine because is old, i have also a electric fuel pump in line, i will leave only this, for one year work fine both, the malfunction of the mechanic pump had create a narrowing in the system fuel causing a burn of electric pump.

My question was to know if she can be removed without getting off the pump of the power steering, that is if there is necessary space to be able to get off it.

Yes you can get to it without removing the pump.

As with anything on our jeeps you may have to come up with an interesting combo of extenders and bend in ways no human should to reach the bolts but you should be able to leave the ps pump on place

Why don't you just bypass the pump and leave it there?

Ok i had work it, pull off the pump without problems, i had put the plate for block the hole, very easy.

I don't leave it there for don't subsequently consume the cammes (eccentric) uselessly.
Thanks for all!
