Build Thread Rocky Mountain 85 CJ7

Thanks Jon, I am glad it came out like it did. I will be taking it for some runs this weekend to see how she really does. I will try and get some go pro of it and post it.

What else do I have taped under there?? :D

Well, got to do my first "real" test run with the Team Rush upgrade and I really like it. Starts right up on first turn of the key. Runs very smooth. More power noticed in first, second and third gear coming off the line...and plenty of juice shifting into forth to get it up to 65. I shifted to 5th at 58 and was able to get to 70 on a flat...still not a lot of power in 5th when you hit a hill...but I am thinking that is more of a gear problem than an engine problem. Tackling snow covered dirt roads it bit into the snow nicely and from first to second it crushed it on a climb of over 2000 vertical feet in less than 4 miles.

I also replaced my oil sending unit...oil pressure is now holding steady at around 30-40 psi where as the one I had before showed around 18 psi and would drop to zero when I shifted into neutral.

Next up...replace the spring shackles and bushings.

Sounds like you have got it running good congrats :chug:

Them Colorado hills sounds like a great spot to take the CJ our for a spin !!
How about some nice pics for the Aussie to appreciate them hills !!

I can gladly say that my idea of a tall hill encompasses 25vertical feet in a distance of 15 horizontal feet!

Glad it worked out for you Alpha. I guess the headaches were worth the effort!

This won't be too expensive Dear! That's what I keep saying. Over and over again.

I will...my gopro mount broke so I wasn't able to get them the other day. We are having a storm right now but will post as I hit it again tomorrow.

You should come up for a week for BusaDaves hosting of ride in the mountains...Colorado Jeep-CJ trail ride. http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f63/2nd-annual-colorado-jeep-cj-com-trail-report-15621/ I plan to go this year and I think others are also. I live in Colorado and this looks like a great week. The more people the more fun it will be.

That sounds like great times to be had!
Unfortunately, I don't think this View attachment 13089
will be ready in time:(.
