I just saw another project starting with a sand blast of the frame.

I have done this on rusted parts as large as wheels with great success.

If I were going to do a frame to prep it for paint this is how I would do it.

Rust removal by electrolysis

It is way easier than blasting but it won't remove old paint. it also does the inside as well as the outside.

I thought electrolysis is what women do to pluck hairs out that they dont want to come back.

you got a hairy woman you want to try it on??:laugh::laugh:

Any suggestions on a tank large enough for a frame? Sounds like a good idea but shear size needed is a bit cumbersome.

2x4 and plywood frame with plastic liner??

4'x8' and about 2' deep?

A decent battery charger should work, may take a couple of days.

cost less than a sand blaster and the kids can play in it when your finished.:D

I don't see a problem disposing of rusty water with a little baking soda in it.

be ready to paint as soon as it comes out and is rinsed and dry, it is clean and so ready to rust again.
