Second attempt at starting 360

if it's true I don't see it as being a issue

Should i try one more time?

Here we go, last time, fingers crossed

What kind of gasket are you using?
Did you check to see if it's fitting to the heads correctly?
One more thing... could you tell on the old gasket where it was leaking?

Felpro valley pan ms96011 from oreilly. I cannot see any signs on heads, intake or gasket. Its just odd. I noticed that in the front and rear, oil is dripping. Both seal? Something is off.

And you are useing a new one each time?

Wow this is really puzzling. And I'm sure you are getting sick of this exercise.

That surface you are showing looks plenty good to form a decent seal. That minor pitting is nothing. You have to have a pretty bad leak to suck enough air to shut down a cylinder.

Did you try dropping the maniforld in place without the gaskets to see if it mated to the head angle good?

Question for readers: Are there more than one style of intake for AMC motors? Are they all the same? I don't know the answer but can it be the wrong intake manifold? Why is it leaking oil at the front and back? Something is not fitting right.

Trying the fitment now

Leeking at front timing deal and rear main, like too much pressure. Pressure as i remember was right in the middle, temps stayed in check. Well its pn and sitting overnight. Cross your fingers

Oh OK so leaks have nothing to do with the intake. That's good.

Did the intake angles seem to match the head angles pretty well?

Intake angles seemed fine. Started it it sounded good, no misses or backfire. Once it ran a bit it was popping out tail and the squealing is now back under quick throttle snaps

Could be too advanced.

Im having a mechanic look at it. I just cant figure it out.

Are you running a good PVC system?

Are you running a good PVC system?

This is what I was going to say regarding the oil leaks. No PVC will cause oil seals to push out.

My pvc run from carb to port. The metal nipple can pull out of the rubber grommet and put back in, seems tight.

Maybe ill grab one and see, cheap and yes pushing out seals. Edit. Ordered one. It is a t not straight metal like mine. Should I replace grommet too? Would this cause a screeching air noise?

The PCV valve can also stick in a closed position. This can allow crankcase pressure and blow-by to damage gaskets and seals. This too can be tested for with a manometer. When an engine begins to develop oil leaks, especially at multiple locations, the PCV system should always be checked.

Will the seals have to be replaced?

Well....not to sound ambiguous, but that depends on the severity of the leaks. If they were only dripping while the engine was running (and I stress only DRIPPING) then they may be ok. If oil seemed to be running out, or if you can see the seal is physically distorted, pushed out in one spot, etc.... then yes, they should be replaced.
