Setting up For Failure?

Setting up For Failure?
I think i'll just go with a pre-emptive strike and look into one of these newfangled cold air jobbies...

LAST thing I wanna deal with is being stuck on the side of the road with my so-cool-it-doesn't-even-run-right jeep!

thanks for all the input guys!

what about thoughts on a fan?... I have the OE fan 5 blade I think, but I hear rumblings of 7 blades with a clutch... or OE with a clutch... or flex with a clutch... or a flex with NO clutch....

I would say try some experimentation going the cheapest route first. You just want to get that heat out from under the hood. If your fuel mixture is too hot it will run on the rich side. If you did get into a vapor lock situation, removing the hood would get you home. Those fan clutches will help with gas mileage also. Looking at the pics Dan sent in I see there is no coolant going thru the intake manifold which for me created a disaster with running crappy and too rich of a fuel mixture, due to the excessive heat.

I'll do that... start with what I have (BTFs) and see how she behaves... change one thing at a time... never had a problem before, and had no shroud... I plan on having one this time...

time will tell I guess...

will post pix once I get it somewhat assembled (I'll put it in the builds forum)
