Hello, I am new to this site, so if I make mistakes, please be gentle. I have a 1951 willys mb that I bought as a project. It was not running when I bought it and not running now. But it had a np435 and dana 18 and stock axles and a 302 on an engine stand. I wanted wider axles, so I bought some out of a CJ7 . Now my issues is this, I have the wider axles with a center drop in the rear and pass side drop in the front. So I bought a gmsm465 mated to a NP205, I knew it was a longer set up before buying it. But, not sure the best way to stuff all of it in the frame and have a rear driveshaft. Has anyone every seen or done this swap? Any one have pictures with measurements? How short can you have driveshaft and still be safe? I have fabricated and built a lot of stuff in my time and sure I could figure it out with trial and error, but the shortest cut from A-B is sometime through the wisdom of others. I am feeling like I might need to cut and stretch the frame. The overall length from the Transmission to tail shaft is 34", it does have a long tail shaft which I hope to be able to replace with a shorter one. Thanks to all reading this and look forward to your replies.
