Hello all, I am at the point now of trying to position my engine & Transmission . First off its a '86 CJ7 built a 350 with sm465/Dana 300 . Jeep has a PO installed 4" suspension lift and 2" body lift. My question is, with the adaptor Transmission mount positioned on the stock crossmember. Which has 1" lowering blocks between it and the frame. In order to get the engine manifold level. The engine would have to sit too low in the frame. Should I remove the crossmember spacers? Not sure what my next move should be. I'll try to get some pics soon. Thanks

I was able to find a pic of the motor mounts. At this height on the frame the engine angle is low in the rear. How important is keeping the carb base level?

The tcase drop was probably to make the rear driveshaft angle better. With only 4" suspension lift, you should be able to remove the drop, though you may have to go to a double cardan driveshaft. But it will net you 1" o f belly clearance.

Personally, i would also ditch the 2" body lift for no more than a 1", but preferably none.
