So, in following this thread http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f7/starter-solenoid-issue-12935/ about a solenoid it was mentioned to disconnect everything to the solenoid to avoid frying everything as well as the possibility of switching the ignition and start terminals.
Can you expand on this? I'm trying to use some of the excellent troubleshooting tools here to try several scenarios before I post any problem.
If you had these switched, would that create the buzzing from the solenoid or would it get no action at all?
If you had these switched or attempted testing as listed elsewhere here without disconnecting, what all would be fried?
I think I had a small problem that may have turned into a bigger self-inflicted problem from incomplete education.
