Totally not on topic, but I was a little strangely weirded out.

I am originally from CT.
I own a Dodge 2500 CTD, and I own a 78 CJ7 among other CJ's...
strange.. although not knowing you I can safely say great minds think alike...


Where in CT are you from? I grew up in Brookfield mostly, lived in New Milford, Waterbury, Norwalk, worked in Stamford... lots of places.

Nice. Got my back ordered stuff today. My shocks , and coil. Not much but its always fun having boxes waiting for you when you get home from work :D

HA! thats funny. I live in Portland, right on the Ct river, and I work mostly in the area. I'm a self employed contractor. This is my "work rig" :chug:

Well the weather isnt cooperating with my back. The cold wind coming up from the creek doesnt work with me laying under the Jeep on the pavement. But hey I put in the bushings and zip tied the boots. Even put the contacts on the coil. :o No wind tommorow supposedly.

I can knock off a few piks while I do the deed. The weather looks iffy towards the end of the week, so I may try to move some stuff around and do it tomorrow. .....maybe....
 
You don't realize how big 1.250 tube is till you see it in hand. Pretty impressive parts, and I got them at a bargain price. :chug:
 
man those are nice! I can't wait to see the installed pics!

THat is a mod I will be doing to my CJ after the next road trip. Although if I don't hurry up and install the parts I bought during the last trip, I will have a BIG pile O' parts by then! :laugh:
 
OK, got the new stuff in today. Went pretty smoothly.

Was able to jack the frame up and unbolt the front shackles, then loosen the U bolts for the axle to get enough room to slip in the rod ends. Took about 2 hours for the whole mess.

And the little engine hole is just about finished too. Just need to fit a new shroud, and get a bigger alt for the winch. After i finished the front end and centered the steering, I took it out for a little shakedown. The PS is GREAT!!! And the front end is set up just perfect. I got it up to 65 MPH and it tracks straight as a rifle shot. :D

Even if it tracks straight, total toe may still be off enough to cause tire wear. With the investment you have in your tires, an alignment may be a good idea. Just my $.02:)

I got it back dead nuts to where it was. The tires on it now have about 15,000 miles on them and have worn perfectly! I was a FANATIC when I set it up the first time. :cool: Problem is, the Jeep is so light that I have to replace the tires due to dry rot before they are even half worn.:mad:
 
Now thats the BEEF! I think you will enjoy the PS...I know I really appreciate it when I turn these bIg meats I have.

One trick I used- dig up an old Ford with PS and grab the PS cooler off it. Install it on your low pressure line to where the fan will blow on it all the time. I used to boil the fluid out of mine every time I wheeled hard in anything but the mud, but now I never have a problem.

Good idea, I'll keep that little cooler trick in mind, and keep an eye on the pump temp.:chug: You're right, I'm gonna love that PS! Between too many low jumps and hard landings out of perfectly good airplanes, and being a carpenter, my back and shoulders are just about junk. It's actually fun to drive it again!
