1979 cj5 golden eagle. AMC 304 v8. Edelbrock 600. Dana 20. Currently original wheels with crappy tires...looking to upgrade to a classic style with some 15" Mickey Thompson classic lock and 31" General Grabber Red Letters.
My speed ometer is 5mph slow (so when I'm doing 45, I'm actually doing 50). I was told that there was a sprocket or something I can put in it to adjust it but it was just a needle. Any ideas for fixing it?

Thanks. I went back outside to look again and its just the screw cap and the needle. No gear. Is it possible that the gear is stuck inside the Transfer Case ?

The gear is inside to Transfer Case , and it appears a bit more complicated than I thought. I would suggest that you search online and search this forum for more info or someone else with a Dana 20 Transfer Case can chime in. I was able to correct mine by a ring and pinion gear change.

I'm not sure how a Dana 20 differs from a Dana 300 , but I just changed mine in the Dana 300 and it's pretty straight forward. Take a forked clamp off and pull out the housing that holds the gear. It's a matter of determining what gear tooth will correct your setup http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speedometer_calibration_______va.htm (look about the middle of the page) and then buying that gear. Or call them with questions, very helpful. Now the Dana 300 has 2 different speedo gear housings based on tooth count so I don't know about the Dana 20 . I wouldn't think it'd be too much different.
