Speedo Help!

I need help folks..

I am going to replace the dash in my CJ with a custom dash.

I have a 1977, CJ7 , AMC 304 , Dana 20 .

I want to use the Autometer Electronic Programmable Speedometer.

Auto Meter

I know I will need an electronic sending unit, however I can't figure
out the thread size I will need to replace the mechanical cable I currently
have.

It looks like this one is the one I will need:

But I don't know. Is the thread 7/8-18?

When I look at the mechanical one:

Auto Meter

It says that the thread size is 5/8-18..

Any suggestions??

Hello Palmetto and welcome to the site!

I'm not sure what thread is on the Transfer Case but I can check mine when I get home today! I'm pretty sure it is 7/8-18 though.

I believe you see a difference between the mechanical speedo and the electronic one is they attach to different ends of the cable. The speedo has a smaller thread size.
