Starting problems - Chugs for 10 seconds, starts, stall, then start right up.

I don't have a vapor lock issue. If there's a problem with the canister I think it would be that the float bowl vent is not closing when the vacuum stops, allowing the float bowl to evaporate.

I have always had the same problem if it it sits awhile I just put some gas down the carb so it will fire right up.

Had the same issue a few months ago with the float bowl drying out if I didn't start it up at least once a day. Pulled the Motorcraft 2100, cleaned it out and put in a new gasket kit (and associated parts supplied in the kit). Haven't had a problem since. My float measurement was also way outta whack prior to the refresh.
