starts then stalls

ok yesterday my CJ5 gave me a hard time starting. not a surprise. but after that ran fine. today i cant keep it running. starts then stalls right out. any ideas? iam thinking stuck floats.single barrel yf carb.

stuck float, could be fuel filter, fuel pump. can you keep it running by revving it up? or does it just die no matter what.

nope if i rev it it still stalls. the fuel pump and both fuel filters are brand new, doesnt mean they cant go bad but maybe 2 months old for all three.

i would pull the fuel filter off first it could be stopped up again. then i would move on to the carb. i asked because the problem could be something with the ignition to. why do you have two fuel filters on there?

ok i will start there. i did put a blaster 2 coil on a week or so ago. thanks

well pulled off the fuel filters still nothing. took the fuel line from the pump to carb put it in a bucket and cranked the motor and nothing, not a single drop of fuel came out. called quadtratec and got the fuel pump warranted. just waiting for the new one. i put an extra see thru fuel filter on just to make sure i catch the stuff that makes it past the normal one. my jeep sat about ten years and i cleaned out the tank, but it cant hurt to have an extra.

The influx of Chinese parts that do not meet any standard what so ever, is appalling. Just venting............
