I paid some big bucks to have my CJ7 "Saved" it's a 1985 model, and I'm it's only owner.

Question: my horn has not worked since return from shop. Following some of the threads here, I tracked it down to the cancelling cam being broken and the horn contact pin and spring missing. Okay ... the question: following the service manual, it appears the stem that sticks out from the cancelling cam is normally at the "10 O'clock" position - more towards the turns signal lever.

What is interesting and has me baffled is that the lock plate has a flat (no groves) side that will only mount in one location..... on mine that is the "4 O'clock" position. If I mount it there, the cancelling cam would be at the 2 or 3 O'clock position (which is how I believe it ended up busted from the shop!)

HELP anyboby! My only thought is when he reassembled from frame off and put the steering column in without paying attention to the steering column allignment??????

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and assistance!
