I’m having issues with my throttle sticking at some point between the gas peddle and the carb. I’m in Phoenix and therefore haven’t driven it in a couple months. I start it every few weeks and just noticed this happening. And suspect points I should focus in on?

A weak throttle return spring would be my first guess. Second guess would be your throttle cable is kinked or is in a bind.

Exactly what I would think. Then again, my CJ is the king of throttle return spring problems.

Agree.

I had the same problem. Throttle return spring was a little tired, so I trimmed one of the hook ends until it wasn't a problem anymore.

I also sprayed some brake cleaner down the cable to clear out any debris.

No issues since.

Start there...if you're still sticky, your hinges on the carb may be a little gummy and will need a cleaning. Best way to test is to take off the spring and throttle cable from the carb and move the throttle back and forth on the carb. If it's not binding, the easy fix above will take care of it.

Spray the linkage joints, and cable with silicon spray.
Same for the throttle pedal pivot points.
