First post. Just picked up a 78 CJ5 to add to a 2 & 7. Seems to be a pretty good rig but needed rear brake work and as long as we were into it thought it best to redo the inner axle seals. PO said it has lockers. In a location right now where I had to let a local mechanic do the work. Seems competent. The problem that arose is with the seals. A CR 19754 is what came out of the differential. We were able to find replacements but they are nothing like anything we've seen that says they're for a Dana 20 . No experience with lockers. Are they the reason for the "unusual" seal? It is a single lip seal and only 1/4" thick.

Can't help with your issue, but will be interested in what shakes out.....

Welcome to the forum - good to have you aboard...

:ww: :dbanana::chug:

There is an inner axle seal about 4" from the outside end of the axle tube.
Sure would like to see pictures of what you're speaking of.:confused:

Do you have stock axle shafts or aftermarket one piece axle shafts?
Some aftermarket kits come with inner seals some don't
The seal you listed is not a stock seal.

Yeah, the OP just made a mistake
Unless a Dana 20 comes with inner axle seals, and lockers.
