Swap in a OEM 20 Gal Tank.... Easy Right?
I was speaking of the exhaust re-route.;)

Oh well ok I will snap a pic tomorrow While I am crawling around under it working on the lift springs.

how hard are these 20 gallon tanks to get, Are they all used or is there someone making them now?
If there is a source for new ones would u post it,
or if these is a source for them used post it as well,
if you dont mind sharing
Thanks

Hey longhorn how does that bumper mount? I noticed that my bumperettes have four bolts two of which go through the outside of the frame and 2 go through the frame behind the gas tank. I kinda want a whole bumper with d rings and a center hitch receiver.

I currently have a tow package on mine that shares two bolts with the bumperettes and then also share 2 bolts with the rear shackle hangers.

the only new ones i have seen as a kit are the ones that busa posted in post 2.

You can still buy the stock poly tank itself (the one that me and longhorn have) new as well as the sending units. I have not seen anyone selling the oem style skid plates for that poly tank new though. SO you may have to fab one up.... It would probably be better than stock anyhow.

If someone has seen them I am sure they will post it.

Oh and longhorn I forgot to get that pic of the reroute... it looks good I swear... Actually it does look better than before because he added that chrome exhaust tip(not that I really care that much) I just forgot the pic because I have been working on installing some used lift springs in... I just finished up at like 11 tonight..... Unfortunately it still isnt the height I want so I am thinking about .5 inch boomerang shackles....SIgh it never ends

Mine uses 8 grade8 bolts that go through L brackets on the back side that bolt through the frame. I hope that makes sense, because I don't have any pic's.
I'll try and take some.

There you go

that metal aero tank long horn suggested is 26 gallons....any idea on the size of it? seems to be a beast.

Anyone have any input on other tank options available? My current dilemma (not being completely familiar with all the Jeep options out there,) is what tank I can use that would be compatible with the GM gen3 (LSx) engine swap...I have been researching Suburban and Tahoe tanks, but they all have some wide dimensions it seems.

The "compatible" part I am referring to, is making it compliant with most emissions laws, meaning it has to have tank pressure sensor, EVAP (of course), and possibly even required to have the Flex Fuel "composition sensor".... Hope my first post with you guys isn't too much off topic.

Sweet! Thanks for the link.. I'll have to give them a call. We have been battling the emmisions rules around here for sooooo long. Northern CO just changed some of their rules about "engine swaps" i.e. one of my customers has a 1986 Grand Wagoneer that has an LS7 swap we have been building, and after he purchased all the Novak conversions stuff (PCM Programming, rewiring, etc), he came to us and we have found out about stupid things like fuel tank regulations...Not to mention they now perform a dyno test, but the vehicle cannot have a tire larger than 34"...

We are supposed to have the same tank as the "donor" vehicle had, well that doesn't work, and now we are $5000 in on our LSx CJ conversion Jeep and I can't find anything to fit our CJ7 . We are lucky here in Co Springs, we no longer have emissions testing, but for resale, they have to be compliant..

We now have to have an extra set of tires, and a PCM programmer to change tire size, and de-tune in the PCM data, every year to get our vehicles to pass emission inspection EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE 10X better emmisions than the stock Jeep ever had!
