Took a few minutes to open up the Transmission . Looks like I may be spending some additional $$$. I havent spent alot of time on this yet so any feedback on what you see here is welcome. Look closely at the fwd gear particularly the small grey (synchronizer ring?) it just doesnt look normal to me and the last gear(is it supposed to be cut this way on the fwd side). Of course theres the one with a broken tooth:( Anyway Ill be tearing into it as soon as I can. It will all be posted on my build thread. Thanks for any initial input. By the way I do have the master rebuild kits from Novak along with the twin stick for this project.

Especially if they came as a result of being hit in the mouth while trying to pry on something, and the pry bar slipped! :poke:
Sorry, couldn't resist!:D

I named my favorite pry bar GENERAL PERSUASION. HE's mean as $^#@! If your reading this please look at the last pages of my build stuff, you may be able to help me....

I dont mean to so sound like im putting the T-150 down its a great Transmission nor am I putting down your plans for the rebuild.. but with 35in tires and a V8 power plant... and i realize you already have the kit and twin stick, BTW twin sticks rock! would you ever consider a beefer Transmission ? like aa SM or t-18a(wide ratio)? i popped my T-150 with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , 4.10s, and 33in KM2s, just a thought.

Again, this is just me talking about possible options, :chug:

I have thought about it and your right it could use upgrading.

Yeah, its a matter for funds also. but hey its only money right lol. iv been saving for the better part of a year and a half. i really really want a wide ratio! freashly rebuild and all shiny... but if it means not being able to enjoy your Cj in the mean time, hell rebuild that T-150 !, and run it for a few years or months. i guess that depend how much money your wife lets you spend, J/K.

But damn having a potential 75:1+ final crawl ratio... that my friends is what dreams are made of..:chug:

I've put alot of thought into this and being that I've recently partnered into an aviation maintenance facility it just isn't the right time. Although if things continue to grow it shouldn't be an issue one day. In the mean time I'm going to continue with the rebuild so I can drive it . I'm ordering the 2nd gear and also the 2nd/3rd synchronizer assembly.I have spent a lot of time on the phone with some old school Transmission guys and these parts plus all new mounts, linkage etc its safe to say the problem should be resolved.

Please keep us posted on how this project works out.
Good luck,
LG
