The possibility of rebuilding a T-18 Transmission could be in my future and I was just pondering making a 1/4" plate to attach the PTO cover face to an engine stand. I don't see the need to invert it, well maybe that would be a quick way to retrieve the needle bearings that get away, but it could keep things flat and secure not to mention portable.
Too light? that is a pretty heavy Transmission even without the TC. Of course there isn't anything light about a V8 engine.
