T150 rebuild

So I am brand new to rebuilding a tranny but I like a challenge. I am also new to forums and posting etc. anyway. Question is this After the rebuild the main shaft seems to be able to fall out of the case. Does the Transfer Case hold the main shaft in or have I missed a step? Thanks in advance for the help.

I assume you mean like this? Yes, the Transfer Case sandwiches the bearing retainer ring between the two cases.

Yes. Just like that. Thanks a lot. Now to rebuild the Transfer Case and bolt it all up. Thanks again!
