T176 rebuild kit plastic thrust washers???

Good evening jeepers,

Just been rebuilding my Dana 300 and T-176 Transmission , the 300 turned out brilliant and the rebuild kit was great from Novak. However, the rebuild kit for the T176 included 'plastic' thrust washers!!!!
Surely not plastic!
Have any of you done this rebuild using a Novak kit? Anybody else come across this?

I for one have never seen plastic thrust washers ever used for a tranny rebuild.
Have you called Novak, and ask's them about it?
Have you pull'd your 176 apart to compare?

Yes Lumpy got it stripped down and they are metal as you would expect. Not contacted them yet just thought I would check with you guys!

Yes I bought the kit also from novak and also got plastic thrust washers. Lucky
my old ones were not chewed up. I used my old ones. The Dana 300 kit comes with metal thrust washers I don't know why the cheaped out send plastic.

Yeah modern materials eh! Looked them up online and they are supposed to be ok, hard wearing and very low friction. One of the metal ones is s bit crappy so will give them a whirl!
