Installed the Team Rush ignition upgrade many years ago. Jeep not driven much. It is at hunting lease now. But, since being there, at least 4 of the MSD blaster 2 coils have failed in past 4 years, and we cannot understand why.

We confirmed the head is properly grounded.
The coil is mounted upright.
6AL is wired directly to battery (yellow top)
Voltage is good

What would be a replacement for this coil?

I had that problem also. Got rid of theAL6 and coils. Need to sell that stuff. I bought extras for road trips.

Did you remove the coil resistance circuit?
The MSD coil is designed to run on a full 12vdc.

On 'Black Betty' I've got everything wired up and ready for the MSD 6A box. This is remembering the procedure as JeepHammer recommended years ago. One difference I noticed is I'm running a Blue Streak E-Coil instead of the MSD Coils. Since taking all the steps JeepHammer recommended, 'Black Betty' runs better even without installing the MSD 6A box. I had some other unrelated things I had to take care of. Another point in JH's post was the absolute need to run the MSD 6A DIRECTLY to the battery terminals to ensure nominal function. I hope this helps.
