The endless CJ5 Road Trip.

The endless CJ5 Road Trip.
Awesome, awesome thread! Thanks for sharing and I have hopes it will continue to grow!:chug:

Fantastic adventure. Thanks for sharing it with pictures. I use to think my 300-500 mile trips in the CJ5 were long. I now know that I have not begun to push the envelope. I think a book should be in your future. You would definitely have a following here.

300 to 500 mile trips in a jeep are long! LOL. I've ridden a half dozen motorcycles across country many times starting with my old 1982 Honda Nighthawk back in 1986, eventually a 86 Ninja, 87 Yamaha FZ700, a few harleys, a gold wing (fell asleep on that one) and three times I rode my 1998 Honda 996 superhawk from Tn to Az and back. The cj is a step up (or maybe sideways) I don't know. The Cj just beats ya down, hour after hour of howling wind and soft top popping like a shotgun. The constant rhythmic seesawing of the steering wheel keeps me awake though as the miles slowly roll by. I bought a dashcam to install and take small clips of my drive back down next month.

You probably already know this, but a set of decent foam ear plugs will make any long trip on a bike or your jeep considerably more comfortable. With a lot of the wind and road noise gone I can even hear some things better WITH the ear plugs in.

Old fashioned head phones. Not very stylish but I can attest from experience, effective. Getting a radio to plug them into anymore could be another issue though….. :chug:

Loved the read. Wish we had more of these. Reminds me of Expedition Portal website.

So, are you still here in AK?
