Those Centerforce clutches seem to be nice. I haven't got to actually try mine out yet but sure is alot easier to engage than what I had in mine previously.

ill try and put up some updates soon, been traveling for work soo....not a lot has been done, the clutch and everything has been replaces, just waiting on a new bell housing and to be home to complete the job.

So here is a small update. I am not headed into the plant until second shift so I figure I’ll throw up some progress pics, although, I'll admit, I don’t have all the pics I would like to. I slacked on pic taking while trying to finish up before my trip.
Well, I removed the Transmission , Transfer Case and all associated hardware that comes with that, clutch, etc. If you recall, I had a nasty sound coming from the clutch pack which was believed to be the throw-out bearing....ding ding ding.. we have a winner.
I am glad I decided to fix it when I did as I don’t believe this thing would have lasted much longer. When the clutch pedal is left disengaged it was very loud, turned out to be the bearing was notch and overall head nearly an 1/8" of play in the concentric direction, it also moved longitudinal direct about 1/32". The clutch itself looks pretty damn good, albeit dirty.

After cleaning the Bell-housing in the solvent tank i found a few cracks, so unfortunetly I had to buy another...it didnt show up until after I left for my business trip.

Once I return I plan to clean up the new bell housing and paint both the bell-housing and the transfer-case and reassemble everything. Until then, I leave you.

Regards,
Kevin

Only one more day and Ill finally be back home to work on the jeep.

I do have a question for you CJ5 owners. What is the best way to route the exhaust so that fumes are not coming into the cab when driving (even with the top off). To date the exhaust has ended right under the driver seat, needless to say, i smell like gasoline when I return from a drive. I assume just getting the exhaust out the back driverside corner just behind the rear wheel will do the trick? Or any full exhaust for the matter. My big concern is my pregnant wife who likes to ride along, which she hasnt been able to do thus far.

Yep, back corner out the side; then the exhaust gets caught in the wind and disipates. Out the back it gets caught in the draft and pulled into the cab from behind. I'd vote for dumping it strait out the side at the back corner.

Nice, Hopefully all goes well and I can get to the exhaust shop on sat morning! I need some CJ driving in my life...
